UNESCO Nairobi Office Hosts a Large Delegation of UNESCO Experts

The African Union in collaboration with the Kenya Government and with the support of UNESCO organized the Conference of African Ministers of Culture in Nairobi, Kenya from 13th to 14th December 2005. UNESCO was represented at the Conference by fourteen (14) professional staff from Paris and various Field Offices in Africa. The delagation was led by the Assistant Director General for Culture (Mr. M. Bouchenaki) and the Assistant Director General for Africa (Mr. N. Tidjani-Serpos). The Organization also sent consultants to provide expert service to the Conference

UNESCO Nairobi Office provided logistics support (including airport transfers, transport to and from the Conference venue) to facilitate the participation of all UNESCO officials and consultants. In addition, the Office installed facilities at the Conference venue to enable the relay, by video, of the Director-General's message to the Ministers.

UNESCO Nairobi Office Team Building Retreat, Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort 2005

UNESCO Nairobi Office held a three-day retreat with the purpose of following up on teambuilding training conducted in April 2005. The retreat enabled participants to:

better understand UNESCO rules and regulations, examine attitudes and perceptions that affect work and productivity, identify ways for improving working relations among staff, and factors that affect individual and group motivation.
